CRASH LANDING By: Oddball

"CRASH LANDING" England 1944. It was a routine day. A flock of B-17s has just arrived from bombing Frankfurt. So far so good. 24 out of 25 planes had come in.

Just then over the horizon #25 appeared, and the excitement began.

Barely escaping a heavy German flack barrage, an 88mm found a home in #3 engine causing internal fires near the gas tanks.

The runway is being cleared for #25. They try to land!

They land but they skid off the runway and slide into the field to the right!

The plane goes to a screeching halt!

The tower dispatches two jeeps to rescue the crew.
