On the SOTW Jeep, I took an axle from an old 5 Star Jeep,
trailer and pounded the desired angle for a good looking, steering, position
on both side of the axle. Then I just pushed it through the Jeep's existing
axle holes and put the wheels and tires back on.
On the LSV I've used clear vinyl tubing with an outside dimension of 3/8". I only used about 3" of tubing on either side. Just enough to stick the wheel on, run it through the shock assembly and just inside the body. It works for me and only cost a dime. When picture taking is done the old axle goes in place and the wheels hold it tightly. As you can see, I'm not done customizing my DPV. I've included a picture of the rear gunner's position. I removed the Hasbro seat and fashioned a tractor like seat out of Sculpey. Then I took a small tube and counter sunk it into the bottom of the seat and used hot melt glue to hold it inplace. It slips right into the pedestal from the original seat. This seat allow the gunner to have more leg room and to be able to turn around and fire the mini gun. Special thanks to Sgt. Rock, Kilroy, Deports, Valance, MP Anderson, Pointman & Devil 505. |
Very cool tip there Seabee! Definitely gives the jeep a little more life for a photo shoot for sure. Keep up the great work buddy! Special thanks for sending these in and sharing them with us. -- GL
