| The 11th Cav. originated at Ft. Meyer Virginia in 1901 as a Horse Cav. Reg. In 1916 the Blackhorse Reg. was called to action against Poncho Villa. The last mounted Cav. charge in US history was made by the 11th against Villa's Bandits. |
