Police helo has a FLIR mounted, but no display; so I modified a GI Joe tracking unit and mounted it to the instrument console. |
In another helo I mounted my custom FLIR monitor; but this one I attached one of the slides/negatives from the liberation of Kuwait GI Joe accessory sets. Trimmed it to size and superglud it in place. Now there is an image to look at. Neat, huh?! |
Most helicopters' pilot's station is on the right side, so I relocated the collective stick from the left side to the position shown. Since this helo is to be single pilot, I removed the left cyclic control stick by cutting it off near the base. Also seen is another one of my custom FLIR monitors. |
Well here she is... I painted her gray. I might add lettering later, but I like the plain gray look. |
Left side view: I obtained a hoist from a Rescue helo and relocated it to the left side of this helo. I simulated a sliding left rear door by mounting the door to the body. It's fixed in the open position. To be used for covert insertions and extractions. |
Closer view: Note relocated collective stick and absence of left side cyclic control stick. |
Wow! Nice job on those FLIR monitors Lightfighter! Definitely a nice touch. As always buddy, you've got some terrific looking helicopters. What's the number up to now, eight? All around inspiring work without a doubt Lightfighter, without a doubt. Keep it up! Special thanks for sending these projects in and sharing them with us. -- GL |
