...Merken Stanovich helps himself to a much anticipated supper.

When all of a sudden he hears movement outside the door.

Stanovich quickly moves for his weapon, which is never far from his side.

"It is only me, Stano. Are they here yet?"

"Upstairs, Michele. By the way, next time make a bit more noise before you enter. I almost shot you."

Michele moves through the door to the staircase as Stanovich returns to his meal.
