BREAKTHROUGH INTO GERMANY
By: Bean

Day 5:

On to Berlin! With camp packed up, the troops make an early morning departure

Rain during the night now flows down this once dry riverbed.

This is a project I've been working on for the last month or so. Lately I've become very interested in engineers and ordinance crews of WWII. A bridge seemed like a visually cool centerpiece for a shoot. So off I went to the woods behind my house to dig out a river. The story is fictional, but it is based off the exploits of the real 150th battalion. Some of the custom equipment I made for the shoot is:
  • The Bridge (Duh! Made from junk wood I found, believe it or not, it's strong enough to hold a 1/1 scale person!)
  • Surveyor's Transit (wood/plastic, I based the design off a photo of a vintage Joe transit)
  • Marker Flags
  • Wood saw (made from a section of a band saw blade)
  • Sledgehammer (Didn't have time to trade for one, so I just made one instead)
