WWII SCOUT CAR REVIEW
By: GreenLeader

Well troops, it's finally here! (Feb,2002) The new 21st Century Toy's WWII M3 Scout Car. And what a beauty it is! 33 inches long, 11.5 inches wide, and 11.5 inches tall. Unfortunately, this is not the troop carrier version of the Scout Car as some of us had hoped. This one is the weapons carrier model, complete with .50 cal and .30 cal machine guns and ammo storage bins.

I'm not sure if it's true to scale, but from what I can see, there's hardly anything to be unhappy about with this vehicle. The only slight gripe I have is that the unditching roller in the front is hooked to the main frame of the vehicle with soft PVC plastic. I guess 21st put this on there to keep the roller from breaking off in case of a front end collision. But I would have preferred it to be hard plastic. A really neat feature is the window armor plate that can be either dropped down into battle position covering the windows, or it can be raise and secured in place with posts for better visibility. The posts are permanently attached to the hood but they fold down when not in use.

This vehicle has a lot of little detail extras on it, including axe(under passenger door), pick & shovel(under driver's door), 2 gas cans(one on each side), and a piece of canvas strapped to the right fender.

It even has a working engine hood that opens on the left or the right of the vehicle to reveal a fairly detailed engine inside. It's also painted for more realism of course.

Really cool!!!
