This trooper is a Vietnam era Special forces Project Delta soldier. He wears the TUS tiger stripe fatigues, boots, web gear and 3 pocket rucksack. Inside the ruck is an ANC PR25 radio with the antenna tucked under his compass case. The original molded coiled wire connecting the radio and handset was removed and replaced with a piece of telephone wire which was coiled tightly around a piece of small diameter stiff wire and epoxies in place. The handset was covered with a piece of plastic bag to keep moisture out. The M-16 has a makeshift sling from a piece of scale rope. |
This trooper is a Special Forces advisor circa 1963. He is equipped with mainly leftover WW II and Korean vintage equipment. The M1945 suspenders were made from a pair of TUS M1956 H harnesses. He also carries a first aid kit and canteen from one of the TUS WW II sets. These were repainted OD green. He is also equipped with a .45 in the black TUS holster and carries a SOTW M1 carbine which has been repainted and has had the barrel drilled out. |
This soldier is a slightly modified German Eastern front trooper. His modifications include a light whitewash on his helmet with thinned acrylic paint. He also has a makeshift cammo smock made from a torn bedsheet. |
Great work there soldier! I really thought that Special Forces Advisor was really terrific. It looks like I'm going to have to get busy putting one of those together for my squad. Keep up the great work Awesome Wally. Special thanks for sending these cool soldiers in and sharing them with us. -- GL |
