Airborne medic... this guy isn't too special. Armband was made of scrap red ribbon and white cloth. I took a Hasbro jeep cap and cut off the bill, glued it to his forehead to appear as though he is wearing one under his helmet. His shirt is from the Joe ranger figure with a 21st jacket. |
Airborne rifleman.. this guy is also not too exotic.. all 21st gear.. new straps made for web harness (I just hate that elastic stuff !), helmet has real cloth scraps added, sculpted hair from Fimo and again there is a leather sling on the rifle. |
BAR gunner. It is hard to see on the photo but he has a white t-shirt as worn in the Pacific theater. Dog tags were fashioned from scrap aluminum.. harness straps redone.. (looks better than elastic), new helmet straps added, leather strap on weapon.. "liberated" Nambu pistol stuck in belt. |
German soldier... leather straps on helmet, chin & foilage straps. hand-made wooden Mauser holster.. (kinda proud of that piece!) smaller hooks on y-straps. |
Just awesome Captain! That first shot of the Medic has to be one of my all time favorite WWII era soldiers that I've ever seen. He definitely looks like he's seen a bit too much of war. And you definitely should be proud of the Mauser holster, very cool! Special thanks for sending these in and sharing them with us. -- GL |
