| Here's my latest modern Russian kit bash I'd like to share. Certain elements of this figure make it a mix of fact and supposition. From the ranks of the Osnaz Internal Troops, I give you this Vityaz heavy assault rifleman. Over top his black body armor, he's wearing another one of my custom Smersh rigs. This one kitted out with 75 round drum magazine pouches, and custom 5 cell VOG grenade pouches. The camouflage BDU's are sourced from a Power Team figure (I think), and look like a mix of French Lizard and Russian Green Kamysh tiger. The helmet originally was the blue Kamysh tiger covered helmet from BBi, which I painted in the same pattern just with the green tiger colors. His primary armament consists of an AK-103 assault rifle with under barrel mount GP-25 40mm grenade launcher. The AK-103 was introduced in 1994, and combines the modern elements of the AK-74 with the larger caliber of the 7.62x39mm M-43 cartridge. Loaded with a 75 round drum, his weapon is a formidable one. |
