WWII SCOUT CAR REVIEW
By: GreenLeader

Even the doors are fully functional on this vehicle. It even has a working door latch.

Not only do the doors open, but the top armor plate is hinged so it can drop down to let in some fresh air for the troops while the doors stay shut.

It really has some fairly nice dashboard details too. Of course, it's up to you detail nuts to hash out whether it is realistic enough for you, but it sure looks cool to me anyway! The dash also includes steering wheel, stick shift and 4 wheel drive shift.

And in between the two front seats, there's even an opening console area so your troops can store away some necessary maps and gear.

In the rear area, there are also two opening storage compartments that are about an inch deep. Perfect for storing M1 rifles and the like. Of course, there is also a mean looking .50 cal on a pole mount and a single .30 cal. Machine Gun hooked to a mount that slides on a rail all the way around the vehicle. There's also an extra rail mount for the .50 cal. if you'd rather use that setup option instead of the pole mount. Of course, as you see what I've done here is just add an extra .30 cal. from another set to the spare rail mount. More fire power! Even though this isn't the troop carrying model, you could probably sit 4 guys in the back of this thing on top of the storage compartments with some room to spare for a couple standing figures.

Definitely an overall great job from 21st! This is one sharp looking WWII vehicle without a doubt. It ends up being about 2 inches longer, an inch taller and an inch & a half wider than Hasbro's Halftrack, so in other words, it's big! And I like the fact that it has opening doors, which the Hasbro version does not. Unfortunately, the front wheels don't turn from left to right like the Hasbro Halftrack does. I was surprised though that this vehicle didn't come fully weathered like the prototype photos showed. Of course, that's not any problem, it can be added easily and more to your personal liking. So if you have a WW2 collection I would have to say this new vehicle from 21st should definitely be in it. It's hard to beat the neatness of the 21st Stuart Tank but in my opinion this is the second finest vehicle 21st has ever produced and definitely a "must have". So be sure to watch for it hitting your local Toys R Us stores. You won't want to miss it.!
